Husband and wife Oleg and Elena Likhach: about recent Chinese innovations
For four years of life in China, Elena Likhach and her husband have ceased to be surprised by various high-tech and modern solutions in one or another area of life. Therefore, if you still think that China is a country of cheap down jackets and low-quality goods, you are deeply mistaken. Here is what the spouses Oleg and Elena Likhach shared:
The fastest train in the world
China, due to its dense population, is interested in high-speed rail transport. The country already boasts the world’s longest high-speed rail network. At the end of 2019, the length of these highways was 35,000 km. In 2020, a train is presented in Shanghai that can reach a record speed of 600 km/h. It is planned that it will run between the two city giants Shanghai and Beijing. But the developers are going to soon put into operation a train with a speed of 1000 km/h.
Widespread use of 5G
The first information about the introduction of ultra-fast wireless data transmission appeared in 2018. Undoubtedly, this is a breakthrough in information technology, which allows not only to informatize the space, but also makes it possible for unmanned vehicles to exist, the use of the “smart home” and “smart city” functions, and the conduct of surgical remote interventions.
Already at the end of 2019, 5G began to be used in large quantities in China. And in 2020, Shenzhen saw full network coverage. So, in this city there are 45 thousand 5G towers. As of the end of 2020, 5G digital technology has reached 50 cities in China, with 80 million mobile network subscribers.
Today, China is the world leader in the use of 5G. Where there are adverse working conditions, a technique is used that does not require the direct participation of a person. So, for example, unmanned dump trucks and drilling rigs have found their application in quarries.
And Baidu Apollo put into operation 40 unmanned taxis “Robotaxi” to serve the residents and visitors of Beijing. The first unmanned buses appeared.
FAW Jiefang has announced the production of a new generation of autonomous trucks. It is planned that the first such machine will roll off the assembly line in 2023.
Waste sorting and disposal
The Chinese authorities are concerned about the preservation of the environment. The solution to environmental problems was automated waste sorting. The developed technologies make it possible to recognize the types of waste and contribute to the full control of the waste disposal process. This approach allows you to build a logistics chain of waste between plants that process waste.
Quantum computer
Shanghai University scientists have developed a high-tech computer. Its power is many times greater than the quantum analogue of “Sycamore”.
It is difficult for an ordinary person to find a use for a machine of such power, for example, he will be able to solve the problem of endlessly incoming data that requires immediate processing. This computer can handle modeling, encryption, it can be used as artificial intelligence in bioinformatics, chemistry and genetic engineering.
All these innovations are the key to the future. Therefore, it is worth showing interest in novelties in the field of new technologies, mastering them and using them in everyday life.
